Professor Tai E Shyong
Prof Tai E Shyong, MD underwent medical training at the University of Dundee in the United Kingdom. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in the United Kingdom and a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine in Singapore (Endocrinology). Prof Tai is currently a Professor in the Department of Medicine at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health and Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School. Prof Tai has also served on the committees that write the clinical practice guidelines for the Ministry of Health in the areas lipids and diabetes mellitus.
Prof Tai has a longstanding interest in the development of novel treatments for diabetes mellitus that leverages on human genetics for the identification of novel drug targets and has published over 200 articles in peer reviewed journals.
As CMO, Prof Tai will identify precision medicine applications that are relevant to Singapore and design clinical workflows for their use as part of mainstream clinical practice.
